My creative journey ✨🎨
Below is the journey that has shaped me into the designer I am today. Following my unique path, my next step is to become a designer with a keen business eye that can help drive business growth while advocating for simple and beautiful experiences. I am currently pursuing my Masters in HCI and Certificate of MBA @ Georgia Tech.
2015
Back in time, I was really passionate about creating art and installations to express my ideas and emotions. The process of creation brought me a sense of inner peace, acting as a gateway to my journey into the field of art and design.
One of my favorite things back then was to visit exhibition and being surrounded by the creativity and ingenuity of artists from diverse backgrounds.
2018
When I went to college, I entered a more pragmatic field that could help people solve real-world problems: industrial design. I began to explore the design and fabrication of physical products using a variety of materials. This experience was really helpful for me to practice the iterative design process, craft, sensitivity towards details and visual communication skills.
It was also during college that I began to explore the intersection of design and technology. I took classes and did projects in game design and physical computing. I was amazed at how technology could be used to extend the capabilities of products, which laid the groundwork for me to enter the field of human-computer interaction in the future.

Brand designer
At the same time, I volunteered as the chief brand designer for a student organization, XunXiang, which aimed to help Chinese students in the U.S. navigate their career paths. By creating the branding and promotional materials from 0 to 1, I helped the organization achieve a 300% increase in membership in 6 months and 6 times more views on its social media articles.
This experience taught me important lessons about how design can drive business growth, how to lead a team, and how to communicate with multidisciplinary teams.
2020
User experience Designer
I delved into the realm of HCI and UX design since my sophomore year of college. With about 3 years of academic learning and 1.5 years of working in the industry, I have worked on projects in various fields such as EdTech, Healthcare, Automotive, and FinTech.
My experience across companies of various sizes, from startups to Fortune 500 giants, and spanning multiple industries, has taught me that the design process seldom adheres strictly to the ideal double-diamond model. This realization has led me to learn to apply the design process with flexibility, adapting to the unique constraints and needs of diverse projects.
